"Pete" Perryman, 99 Durant Daily Democrat June 25, 2003 A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cunningham Funeral Chapel, Achille, for H.P. "Pete" Perryman, 99, Achille, who died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Southern Pointe Living Center, Colbert. The Rev. Roger Speers will officiate. He was born Nov. 21, 1903, in Izard County, Ark., to Walter and Sarah Elizabeth (Brown) Perryman. He married Voncille Lannom Jan. 10. 1938, in Pauls Valley. He attended Bryan County schools and was of the Baptist faith. He worked in the shipyard in California during service and was actively involved in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression. He also helped build the Denison Dam. He lived in Bryan County most of his life and owned and operated Perryman's Store in Achille for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife on Jan. 8, 2002; brother Jack Perryman; sisters Willie Ramey and Gladys Ferguson; granddaughter Annette Perryman and grandson Craig Wakefield. He is survived by his sons Don Perryman and wife Pauline, Mike Perryman and wife Brenda, and daughter Charlotte Wakefield and husband Earl, all of Achille; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery, Achille. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
