Funeral Rites For Elisha Allen Roy To Be Held Friday

(original Durant Democrat Jan. 12, 1948 had his name as Allen Lisha Roy)

Funeral Services for Elisha Allen Roy age 69, who died January 11 in a
Denison Texas hospital will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the
Penicostal Holiness church.  Rev. Smith will officiate, and Gus Pool and
Son Funeral Home will take charge of the arrangments.

The deceased was born in Missouri June 5, 1878 and came to Durant about 40
years ago.  He resided at 701 East Texas St.  He was a member of the
Holiness church.  Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Pearl Favors and Mrs.
Edith McCarty of Durant,  Mrs. Daisy Tice of Sunnyside and Mrs. Willie
Adams of California; two brothers John Roy and Ambrose of Fostoria Ohio;
Two sisters Mrs. I. M. Gooch, Sacremento California and Mary Carter of
Alvin California.
