Durant Daily Democrat 8 Apr 2005 Dale Rodden, 46 A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at North Town Church of Christ for Byron Dale Rodden, 46, McAlester, who died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Joe Ware will officiate. Byron Dale Rodden was born Dec. 14, 1958, in McAlester to Byron Preston and Pat Kirk Rodden. He grew up and attended schools in McAlester and later graduated from Caddo High School in 1977. Dale also attended York Christian College in York, Neb. He married Debbie Johnston June 21, 1992, in McAlester. Dale worked as an occupational health technician for 23 years at the United States Army Ammunitions Plant. He was a longtime member of the North Town Church of Christ and was a song leader for Churches of Christ since the age of 14. Dale was also a Red Cross volunteer and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father Sept. 15, 2002, and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife Debbie Rodden, of the home; daughters Sarah Rodden, of the home, and Rebecca Rodden, Lawton; stepson Gabriel Renfrow, Tahlequah; stepdaughter Amanda Renfrow, McAlester; mother Pat Rodden, McAlester; sister and brother-in-law Jan and Wayne Conway, Tulsa; brother and sister-in-law Kirk and Angela Rodden, Tishomingo; stepgrandson Charles E. Parkhurst, Salt Lake City, Utah; nephews Christopher Conway, Tulsa, and Evan Rodden, Tishomingo; aunts and uncles LaRue Satterfield, Darrel and Anthya Kirk, Leo and Anna Smith and Curtis and Mae Kirk; and several cousins. Honorary pallbearers will be Gabriel Renfrow, Lewis Satterfield, Dr. Chris Manschreck, Noble Jobe, Wendell Blair, Keith Whitley, David Allen, Dick Stites, Mark Young, Bobby Scott, Bill Banks, Kathye Griffin, Donna Mitchell, Terry Owens, men of the McAlester Churches of Christ and his friends at the United States Army Ammunitions Plant. The family will receive friends for visitation this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that donations be made to the Search Program, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, Oklahoma, 73083, and the American Red Cross, 200 East Adams, McAlester, Oklahoma, 74501.
