Brown’s Funeral Service is handling arrangements. ========== Durant Daily Democrat Thursday, January 29, 2004 Willie Sheffield, 96 Services for Willie Sheffield, 96, Durant, who passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Brown’s Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jack Ball will officiate. Sheffield was born Nov. 11, 1907, at Fort Towson, to George F. Sheffield and Sally Bridges. He lived in and around Bryan County most of his life and attended school at Smith-Lee. Sheffield married Fannie Irene Smith, Aug. 10, 1929, in Miller County, Ark. and worked as a farmer. They were married 70 years at the time of his death. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and raising his family. He will be greatly missed by many. Sheffield was preceded in death by his parents; wife Fannie Irene Sheffield; daughter Hattie Marie Kessler; brothers Tommy and Clyde Sheffield; sisters Lillie Sheffield and Dovie Jones; and two great- grandchildren: Angel and Nichole Luton. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with Rickey Buffalo, Eugene Buffalo, Sean Sheffield, Randal Sheffield, Alvin Jr. Sheffield and Marvin Luton serving as pallbearers. Family hour will be 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
