Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery. Family hour is 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ================== Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, January 18, 2004 Charles Shastid, 68 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bennington First Baptist Church for Charles Shastid, 68, Bennington, who died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at his residence. The Rev. Rogers Speers will officiate. He was born Thursday, Aug. 22, 1935, in Wade, to Andrew Jackson and Nellie (Goad) Shastid. He married Yvonne Jane Ely April 14, 1978, in Durant. He was retired from a career in law enforcement. He loved fishing, hunting and playing dominoes. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved being with his family. He was a member of the Wade Senior Citizens' Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Kimberlee Shastid in 1999; son Michael Shastid in 1987; granddaughter Ashlee Moon in 1999, and grandson Joe Kennedy in 1985. Burial will be in Bennington Cemetery with pallbearers Rob Wood, Joseph Donica, Robert Wood, A. J. Shastid, Gary Shastid, Lloyd Ray Shastid and Jason Butterfield. Family hour is 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
