All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Pauline Williams Sasser CLOVIS, N.M. - Pauline Williams Sasser, 80, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Hines and the Rev. Doug Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Sasser was born in Hendrix, Okla., and had lived in Floydada, Texas, a number of years before moving to Clovis in 1938. She was a member of Central Baptist Church at Clovis and had taught Sunday school for 20 years. She also sang in the church choir. She and her first husband, Modrel "Mott" Williams, opened Mott's Venetian Blind Co. in 1945. After his death in 1966, she continued the business for 11 years. She married Duffy Sasser in 1972 and retired in 1977 after selling her business. She was a charter member of the Pilot Club of Clovis and was active in the Christian Women's Club for many years. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nancye Gressett of Clovis and Linda Geries of Farwell, Texas; two stepsons, Tony Sasser of Stamford, Conn., and James Sasser of Santa Fe; a sister, Josephine Cox of Clovis; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
