"Jim" A service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Old Church Presbyterian for R.C. "Jim" Stowe, 85, Bennington, who died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at his residence. Rev. Charles Williams will officiate. The son of T.J. and Nancy (Davis) Stowe, he was born Thursday, Feb. 12, 1920, in Bennington, where he lived his entire life. He married Essie Ruff Dec. 15, 1948, in Sherman, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher all of his life and enjoyed taking care of his cows. He was preceded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of the home; sons Gary Stowe and wife Ilene, Springer, Danny Stowe and wife Marilyn, Durant, and Jimmy Stowe and wife Alice, Amarillo, Texas; daughter Becky Walls and husband Butch, Bennington; grandchildren Jeff Stowe, Jeremy Stowe, Dannette Stowe, Brian Stowe, Shane Stowe, Aubrey "Digger" Stowe, Jason Walls, Vickie Malone and Diane Borchardt; and great-grandchildren Kayle Malone, Austin Malone and Aaron Hess. Burial will be in Old Church Cemetery, Bennington, with Shane Stowe, Aubrey Stowe, Jeff Stowe, Jason Walls, Brian Stowe and Larry Borchardt serving as pallbearers and Jeremy Stowe serving as an honorary pallbearer. Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at dhfh@communicomm.com.
