All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== :Rosewood Cemetery--Achille OK Durant Daily Democrat 22 Dec 2004 Dorothy Lee Stubblefield, 81 A service for Dorothy Lee Stubblefield, 81, Achille, who died Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004, at the Southern Pointe Living Center in Colbert, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Cunningham Funeral Chapel in Achille. Chaplains Phillip Payne and Donny Knight will officiate. She was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Hendrix to the late George Phillip and Letha Lee Burns Fann. She married Acie Denver Stubblefield on Oct. 25, 1938 in Durant, and he preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1996. She was also preceded in death by four infant children, Acie Jr., Edmond Houston, Linda Kay and Patsy Lee Stubblefield; one brother, Billy Fann; and two sisters, Catherine Stubblefield and Jane Fann. She attended Mashburn and Hendrix schools and was a home care provider. She was a member of the Durant Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a lifelong resident of Achille. She is survived by daughters Merlene Stubblefield, Colbert, Gladys Carter and husband Fred, Quanah, Texas, and Onean Gibby and husband Darrell, Achille; brother Bobby Fann, Kountz, Texas; sisters Rebecca Sinor, Hendrix, Nadine Laughlin, Dorchester, Texas, and Oleta Shannon, Killeen, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step- grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery, Achille, with Kevin Gibby, Richard Gibby, Daniel Gibby, Weldon Ely, Jason Dowd and Weldon Gibby serving as pallbearers. Family night is from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
