79, Calera, who died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at Texoma Medical Center, 
Denison, Texas.

Matthew Stephens, 79

A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel 
for Matthew L. Stephens, 79, Calera, who died Saturday, Nov. 29 ,2003, at 
Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. The Rev. Raymond England will 
officiate.

He was born July 27, 1924, in Durant, to Rufus Harvey and Vera Arminia 
(Stearns) Stephens, and was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. He 
attended Barwick school. He served in the U. S. Army Air Force 1943-1945. 
He married Ruby Wells Aug. 7, 1945, in Searcy, Ark. He retired from 
Champion Coolers in 1990. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time 
with his family. He and his wife raised and sold Chihuahuas. He was of the 
Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calera, with grandsons serving as 
pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Dunn and Charlie Baker. VFW 
Post No. 3916 will conduct military graveside services.

Family hour is 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
