Ed L. Strickland, 69 Services are pending with Coffey-Murray Funeral Home for the Rev. Ed. L Strickland, 69, Caddo, who died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Oakridge Mador Nursing Home, Durant. Sunday, August 17, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Rev. Ed Strickland, 69 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasant View Freewill Baptist Church, Tushka, for the Rev. Ed Strickland, 69, Caddo, who died Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at Oakridge Manor Nursing Home. The Revs. Vernie Heydenreich and W.C. Hamilton will officiate. He was born Wednesday, June 27, 1934, in Silverton, Texas, to David E. and Sarah Elizabeth (Childs) Strickland. He married Joyce Marie White Nov. 3, 1960, in Lubbock, Texas, and came to Oklahoma in 1972. He was a preacher and a member of the Pleasant View Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of the home; daughters Katherine Hurst and husband Junior, Brenda Gabbart and husband Billy Don, Donna Moses and husband Kent, all of Caddo, and Patricia Smith and husband John, Elkhart, Texas; sons David Strickland and wife DeeAnn, Caddo, Danny Strickland, Houston, Texas, and Don Strickland and wife Debra, Baird, Texas; niece Betty Brooks, Carlsbad, N.M.; granddaughters Amanda Gabbart, Heather Hurst, Valercia, Ashley and Briann Strickland, and Chasity Smith, and grandsons Gary Hurst, Matthew Gabbart, Nick, Andrew and Tyler Strickland, and Justin and Michael Smith. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery with pallbearers Vic Cook, Harley Smith, Junior Hurst, Billy Gabbart, Kent Moses, John Smith, Michael Tomlinson and Darrell Atteberry. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Hurst, Nick Strickland and Matthew Gabbart. Family hour is 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
