All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::National Memorial Cemetery--Phoenix AZ Stark, Dorris Dane "Dee" Dorris Dane "Dee" Stark, 84 of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away November 2, 2006. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma on December 24, 1921 to Robert Clint & Buelah Dane Stark. His childhood was spent on the family farm outside Dallas, Texas. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed both in New Orleans and the Naval Air Station in Dallas. He played on the Naval Softball Team and traveled the United States participating in competition. After attaining the rank of Boatswain's Mate G First Class, he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1954. Always involved in athletics, he parlayed his experience into ownership of Dee's Sporting Goods in Dallas, and later, as a sporting goods salesman traveling the western United States. In 1961 he moved to Arizona where he resided until his passing. A genuinely kind and beloved man he was preceded in death by brothers Byron, Robert Clint Jr., Marvin, Frank Stark and sister Mary Elizabeth 'Ike' Hightower. He is survived by his devoted sister, Maxine Bowers of Houston, Texas. Also surviving him are his five devoted children, Michael Dane, Rita Jan Holland, James Michael, Guy William and Rebecca Dee Goll, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He will also be greatly missed by his dearest friend Ann Berry and her loving family. Visitation will be held 6-8PM, Wednesday, November 8th at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale. Funeral service will be held at 9:30AM, Thursday, November 9th at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel. Afterward he will be laid to rest with military honors at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix.
