All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat - 16 Oct 2004 Gwendolyn "Gwen" Stewart, 82 Gwendolyn "Gwen" Stewart, 82, Ranger, Texas, passed away Tuesday evening Oct. 12, 2004, at her home surrounded by her family. A prayer service was held Thursday at Edwards Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be Saturday at 12 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Ranger. Mrs. Stewart was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Durant to Tom Abe and Nellie (Bacon) Dorsey. She graduated from high school in Durant and then attended Southeastern University in Durant. She married T.C. Steward on Dec. 21, 1941, in Durant. Her most important jobs were being a homemaker and mother. Mrs. Stewart was a Methodist and moved to the Ranger area in 1990 from Bokchito. Survivors include husband T.C. Stewart of Ranger; daughters Glinda Cunningham and husband Larry, Ranger, Kathie Bush, Ranger, and Sue Taff and husband Dennis, Van Buren, Ark.; honorary children Judy Matheny and Debbie Jeffcoat; sisters Tillie Ellis, Durant, Lollie Derdyne, Siloam Springs, Ark., and Tinsey Kunkel, Grand Prarie, Texas; grandchildren Portlan Sinku, Costa Rica, Larry Cunningham Jr., Lexington, Ky., Chad Cunngham, Nicaragua, Amy Meece, Hickory Creek, Texas, Robbi Cunningham, Ranger, Cody Bush, Laffeyette, La., Sicily Bush, Fort Worth, Texas, Michele Bovea, Azle, Melanie Yancey, Van Buren and Sherri Meade, St. Joseph, Mo.; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Tommy Stewart, brother J.T. Dorsey and sister Billie Frances.
