All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Seeley Cemetery--Armstrong OK Durant Daily Democrat 23 Dec 2004 David Ray Seeley David Ray Seeley, of Durant, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004. He is survived by his wife Mary L. Seeley, son Myk Seeley, Richardson, Texas; and daughter Kathy Billings and her husband Richard and their three children, Rick, Kyle and Stefani, all of McKinney, Texas. He was also survived by his mother, Sarah Jane Seeley, Durant; sisters Gail Hudson, Jane Rember and Susan Morrow; nieces and nephews, including Deb, John and Mitzy Hudson, Wes Morrow and Jake Rember. He had many loving great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was born in Coalgate to Ray and Sarah Jane Seeley June 30, 1937. He grew up on "Seeley Hill" in Durant, graduated from Durant High School and Southeastern State College. He obtained a degree in architecture from Oklahoma University in 1961. He moved to Richardson, Texas, where he lived for 40 years raising his family and working on projects such as Reunion Arena and the American Airlines Center as construction administrator. After retirement, he returned to his home in Durant, where he spent the last year with his wife Mary. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a founder of the North Texas Trials Association and a diplomat of the North American Trials Council, which was responsible of the organization of the national and international motorcycle events. He was an active member of his community and enjoyed his monthly lunches with high-school friends. He will be sorely missed by friends and family all over the world. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Coffey-Murray Funeral Chapel in Durant. Rev. Jim Hodson will officiate. Burial will be in the Seeley Cemetery, Armstrong, with pallbearers Wes Morrow, Myk Seeley, Tim Edwards, Richard Billings, George Edwards and Huel Brumley. Family hour will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
