She was the third born in a family of eight; Ruby, Ruth, then Irene, Frank (F.L.), Earl, Hazel, Joyce and Mary. God took her home Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004. She attended and graduated from Boswell High School, and later married Euel Stalling. Irene had two sons, Louis and Clinton Stallings. In 1942, she left Boswell and moved to Boston, Mass. She married Ernest Smith on her birthday June 15, 1942. They retired in 1974, moved back to Boswell and built their home on ten acres she inherited from the 80 acres her father and mother bought in 1912. Many happy years followed, attending the little Nazarene Church her parents had brought their children up in. She was the church treasurer until her health no longer permitted. She enjoyed the many family reunions and dinners with other family members who returned to Oklahoma upon retirement. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Boswell. She will be laid to rest at the Restland Cemetery in Boswell. The Rev. Harold Lloyd Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be James W.
