Smith 'Hooks' ODESSA - James L. Smith "Hooks", 77, of Odessa went to be with our Lord Wednesday, March 8, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors with Revs. Raul Puente and Don Swindell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Jim worked his entire life for his loving family. He was employed by Broncho Chevrolet for 42 years and after retirement for Odessa Auto Sales. Jim was born January 19, 1927, in Armstrong, Okla., and was married to Bessie Smith for 46 years. Jim served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Dane. Jim is survived by his wife, Bessie; three children, Sande Prewitt of Odessa, Suzi Newsom of Odessa and J.W. Smith of Odessa; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister; and one niece. The family suggests memorials sent to the Hospice House and Star Hospice. Services entrusted to Frank W.
