Carmel Baptist Church. Family Hour is from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2005, at the funeral home, with burial at Gethsamene Cemetery in Caddo. Brown's Funeral Service is handling the arrangements. ========= Durant Daily Democrat 14 Mar 2005 Daisy Anna Allen Smith, 90 A service for Daisy Anna Allen Smith, 90, of Caney, who passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Bryan County Manor in Durant, was held Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Caney. The Rev. Tony Fields officiated. Daisy was born February 15, 1915, in Atoka County to J.R. and Clementine (Cochrum) Allen and was a lifelong resident of Atoka County. She was a charter member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a Sunday Bible School Teacher. Daisy married S.L. "Choc" Smith on February 3, 1934, in Caney and was a homemaker and a teachers aide from 1970-1975 at the Caney Elementary School. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Choc on June 13, 1996; her parents; daughter Vona; great-granddaughter Mindy Daniel; son-in-law Joseph McGrath; six brothers; and three sisters. Daisy is survived by daughters Mona Simpson and husband Jerry of Caney, Dorothy McGrath of McKinney, Texas, Sandra Woodhouse and husband Bruce of Houston, Texas, and Beth Hodge and husband Danny of Plano, Texas; son-in- law Hayden Smith; 12 grandchildren - Bruce Simpson and wife Connie of Caney, Carla Daniel and husband Billy Don of Denison, Texas, Ann Boyd and husband Ron of California, John McGrath and wife Joni of California, Fran and wife Adlita of California, Jonathan Bussey of New Jersey, Joel Bussey and wife Sherri of Norman, Oklahoma, Susanna Kirksey and husband Kenny of Houston, Angela Maze and husband Scott of Texas, and Nina Hodge of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 13 great-grandchildren - Kody and Monica Simpson, Sara and Zachary Daniel, Jamison, Jack, Ben, Mac and Mattie Bussey, Chelsea and Emily Boyd, Joseph McGrath and Chandler Brown; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of dear friends. Interment was in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, Oklahoma, with Bruce Simpson, Jerry Simpson, Kody Simpson, Billy Don Daniel, Joel Bussey, Jon Bussey, Steve Hodge and Dan Hodge who served as pallbearers.
