All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 11 Jan 2005 Eula Jane Sands, 69 Services for Eula Jane Sands, 69, Mead, who died Jan. 8, 2005, at Texoma Medical Center, are pending with Brown's Funeral Service. ========= Durant Daily Democrat 12 Jan 2005 Eula Jane Friend Sands, 69 Services for Eula Jane Friend Sands, 69, of Mead, who passed away Saturday, January 8, 2005, in Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at the Streetman Road Baptist Church in Mead. Rev. Virgil Hill and Rev. Terrell Suggs will officiate. Eula was born October 27, 1935, in Fayette County, Pa., to Howard S. and Jane Ruth (Hart) Friend. She came to Oklahoma in 1994 from northwest Arkansas. She married Lee Roy Sands March 28, 2002, in Durant. Eula was a member of the Eastern Star, and her hobbies included crochet, gardening and quilting. She was in the choir at Streetman Road Baptist Church where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jane Friend; and her brother, Frederick Sampson Friend. Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Sands of Mead; daughter Angela Gandy and husband Hal of Springdale, Ark.; son C. David Sands and wife Trish of Cartwright; daughter Barbara Garvin and husband David of Denison, Texas; sister Eva Burkhart and husband Jim of Barberton, Ohio; brother Bill Friend and wife Dorothy of Barberton; sister Dolores Kolb of Barberton; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Interment will be at Mead Cemetery with Dakota Glass, Marty Oglesbee, Roy Garvin, Randy Hiberd, Cody Horn and Travis Oglesbee serving as pallbearers.
