JONES C. SHARP

      Private gravesite services for Jones C. Sharp, 77, Norman, will be
Saturday in the Caddo Cemetery in Caddo with the Rev. J. C. Curry offi-
ciating.  Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home of Durant is in charge of arrange-
ments.
      Mr. Sharp was born in Louisville, Miss., on April 2, 1911.  He
lived in Bryan County for many years and was a graduate of Calera High
School.
      He later received his B.S. degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State
University and his master's degree from Oklahoma State University.
      He served with the U.S. Navy, mainly in the Pacific, from Dec. 13,
1942 until Movember 1945.  He retired from the naval reserve as a lieu-
tenant commander.  He was supervisor of operations at DMM Branch at
Tinker Air Force Base until his retirement in 1972.
     He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was of the
Methodist faith.

     On Dec. 19, 1941, he married Georgene Sipes in Caddo.  She sur-
vives.

     Other survivors include two daughters, Susan Lee of Poughkeepsie,
N.Y., and Patti Benson of Norman; a son, Robert Sharp of Jacksonville,
Fla.; five sisters, Maurine Ogilvie of Tulsa, Cleta Ortloff of Houston,
Texas, Gwen Buchanan of Durant, Moselle Sharp of Calera and Geraline
Auerbach of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.
      The family has designed the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation as
appropriate for memorial donations.
