All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Wednesday, August 6, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Bob Sharp, 69 A service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Calera, for Bob Sharp, 69, Calera, who died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. The Rev. Jacob Toews will officiate. He was born Sunday, July 1, 1934, in Calera to Moody and Betty Lou (Venable) Sharp, and was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. He married Zetty Geraldine Kent Sept. 17, 1955, in Durant. He was in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and became a teacher and a coach. He also worked for the Oklahoma Lake Patrol for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Dec. 4, 2002. He is survived by his sons Mike Sharp and wife Angela Marie, Denison and Randy Sharp and wife Patsy, Calera; daughter Kelly Goldstein, Denison; sister Phillis Gayle Koons; granddaughter Melissa Brown; grandsons Jared Brown, Michael Sharp and Justin Goldstein, and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Calera, with pallbearers Carlos Edgmon, Eudis St. John, Rudy Dockray, Jackie Sharp, Rayborn Wilhite and Kenny Chandler. VFW post No. 3916 will perform graveside rites.
