Durant Daily Democrat Thursday, December 11, 2003 Ray Schram, 57 Services are pending with Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home for Ray Schram, 57, Durant, who died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at his residence. ========== Durant Daily Democrat Monday, December 15, 2003 Raymond Victor Schram Raymond Victor Schram, Durant, was born Sept. 22, 1946, in Ponca City. He attended grade school in Wichita Falls, Texas, and graduated from high school in Irving, Texas. He is the son of Alfred F. Schram, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Schram. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Arkansas. Postwar, he worked as a technician on the 'Dew Line' radar defense in Greenland, was employed in Saudi Arabia to teach math to Saudi pilots and in Iran to teach English to Iranian pilots. After the overthrow of the Shah of Iran, he returned to the U.S. He graduated with honors (B.A.) from the University of Houston and obtained an MBA from the Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant. He settled in Durant and operated a private investment company. He loved music and began playing guitar in his teens. He helped organize and played in various small bands and won several competitions. He became enamored with antique classic cars and spent many happy hours restoring some of them. He enjoyed carpentry, auto mechanics, gardening and landscaping his own property. He loved cats and always had at least one. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Elizabeth Schram, and sister Karen Ann Schram. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Irving. Father Aidan O'Donnovan will officiate.
