Salmon, 91, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on September 6, 2007. Born in Durant, Oklahoma in 1916. Graduated from Oklahoma University in 1937. Navy Flight Instructor during WWII. President of Durant Building & Loan Association until 1971 having succeeded his father, O. R. Salmon. Played golf 5 days a week and two rounds on Saturdays & Sundays in his prime. Active at Devonshire Sr. Center many years. David is survived by his wife of 70 years, Josephene; his daughter, Sharon; son-in-law, Bill George; granddaughter, Meganne; grandson, Jeff; granddaughter-in-law, Allison; and great-granddaughter, Sarah. David was a favorite brother-in-law & uncle to his family members. The family will celebrate David's life at That's Italiano at 3717 East Indian School Rd at 4 PM on Saturday, September 15. Friends are invited to join them. A memorial round of golf will be played at Papago Golf Course on Sunday, September 16 @ 6:30 AM where #17 was David's longest Hole In One. Final resting place will be the Phoenix VA Cemetary. Contributions in David's memory may be made to The Salvation Army, PO Box 52177, Phoenix, AZ 85072.
