Teat, 83 A memorial service for Max S. Teat, 83, Mead, who passed away Friday, Sept. 24, in Lubbock, Texas, was held at the Streetman Road Baptist Church Monday at 3 p.m. Rev. Durlin LeJeune officiated. Max was born on Dec. 25, 1920, in El Paso, Texas, to Herbert L. Teat Sr. and Martha Teat. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy for three years and had a college education. He retired from Phillips 66 where he worked as a chemical engineer. Max married Nancy Teat on Jan. 30, 1946, in El Paso and later came to Oklahoma from Dumas, Texas, in 1960. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church. He also enjoyed raising cattle. Max will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Herbert Teat Jr. Max is survived by his wife, of the home; sons Max Jr., Tulsa, and Roger, Roswell, Ga.; daughters Patricia, Lawton, and Marcie, Ramsey, N.J.; 11 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a number of dear friends. Memorials may be made to the West Bryan County Fire Department or the Streetman Road Baptist Church in Mead.
