"Winterhawk" Taylor, 62 Sam Q. "Winterhawk" Taylor, 62, of Fresno, Calif., passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, in a Fresno Hospital. Sam proudly served his country during the Vietnam Conflict in the United States Army from 1966-1968. He was a building contractor for more than 35 years building fine residential homes. He was a member of the NRA and the Modesto Houndsman. Sam enjoyed hunting with his dogs but was happiest when with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, LaDonna Taylor; children Denise and husband Sal, Tonya and husband Glen, Danita and fiancé Brian, Sarita and husband Garland, and Justin and fiancé Caroline; siblings Calvin, B.J., Dessie, Bobbie, Jimmie Ann and Donna Jean; and grandchildren Ethan, Brandi, Tiffany, Dylan, Aron, Tristan, Kali, Cody, Austin, Taylor, Kassie and Caleb; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rock Creek Community Church, Bokchito. Burial will be at Old Church Cemetery in Bennington with pallbearers Glen Ford, Sal Perales, Justin Taylor, Ethan Perales, Garland Teaney and Donal Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren Dylan, Aron, Austin, Tristan, Cody and Caleb. Family hour will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
