Thursday, October 23, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Delbert Empson Tonubbee, 60 A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ for Delbert Empson Tonubbee, 60, Tulsa, who died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, in Tulsa. Bob Young will officiate. He was born July 13, 1943, in Grandfield to Empson and Lillie (Mintz) Tonubbee. He graduated from Grandfield High School and entered the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the military, he worked as the manager of the Safeway grocery store in Durant, then for Brink's Security, Inc., Tulsa. He was currently employed as a security officer for the University of Tulsa and a security guard and clerk for Jubilee Liquor Store, Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his father; and grandparents Lewis and Bettie Tonubbee, and Jerry and Seleah Pistubbee Mintz. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with active pallbearers Randy Tonubbee, Mike Tonubbee, John Tucker, Tom Parrish, Joe Timmons and Marc Evans.
