Monday, September 8, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Annie Mae Thompson A service was held Saturday, Sept. 6 at Shartel Church of God in Oklahoma City for Annie Mae (Pamplin) Thompson, who died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003. She was born Dec. 25, 1918, the firstborn of L.L. and Nora Myrtle (Miller) Pamplin. She graduated from Bennington High School, received her Bachelor's degree from Southeastern State College, Durant, and her master's in special education from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. She spent more than 30 years teaching special education in Oklahoma City schools. She dearly loved all her students and devoted herself tirelessly to helping them prepare for the future. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Russell Thompson; her parents; sister Oneta Lois Nichols and brother Lawrence Leon Pamplin.
