Thomas, 88 Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Platter Baptist Church, for Thelma O. Thomas, 88, Platter, who died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Oakridge Manor Nursing Home, Durant. Bro. Bruce Almy will officiate. Thomas was born Sept. 8, 1915 in Gainesville, Texas to Roy Wayne and Etta Pearl (McDonald) Travis. She married James Arthur Thomas, Sr. Nov. 7, 1931, in Tishomingo. A member of the Platter Baptist Church for more than 75 years, she loved gardening, reading, sewing, picking up pecans, and just generally being outdoors. She loved being with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Anita Booher; one sister and five brothers. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Colbert. Pallbearers will be Don Ford, Robert Banks, Charles Boatwright, Kenneth Chester, Ronald Washer and Dennis Butcher.
