Thomas, 75, Mead, who died today at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. ========= Durant Daily Democrat 3 Jan 2005 Sherman "S.M." Thomas Jr., 75 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Coffey-Murray Chapel for Sherman "S.M." Thomas Jr., 75, Mead, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. Rev. Rick Knight will officiate. He was born Saturday, May 21, 1929, in Bee to Sherman Sr. and Atha (Ballard) Thomas. He married Mary Jane Wallace in DeQueen, Ark., May 9, 1952. He was a member of the Nida Baptist Church. He was a farmer, rancher and retired oil field worker who loved to fish, hunt and visit with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Sherron Thomas, brothers Kenneth and George Thomas and sister Orlene Hunter. He is survived by sons Jamie Thomas, Round Rock, Texas, and Robert Adolph Thomas, Mead; daughters Jacqueline Bow and husband William, Kenefic, and Beverly Mackey and husband Ron, Durant; grandchildren Emily and Hilary Thomas, Durant, Maegan and Meredith Thomas, Howe, Texas, Angela Gerlach, Krissie Bow-Glover and Christopher Hill, Durant, Eric Bow, Kenefic; seven great-grandchildren; brothers J.B. Thomas, Nida, Harrison Thomas, Nida; and sisters Imogene Authry, Nida, Joyce Gilbert, Durant, and Buleah Tomlinson, Houston, Texas. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Eric Bow, James Glover, Garry Lorance, Larry Lorance, Ronnie Thomas and Larry Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Hill and Dale Hunter. Family hour will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
