Thrasher, 75, Calera, who died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. =============== Durant Daily Democrat Thursday, February 5, 2004 Dixie R. Thrasher, 75 Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cunningham’s Achille Funeral Home Chapel for Dixie R. Thrasher, 75, Calera, who died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004, at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. Rev. Kim McGehee will officiate. She was born Aug. 30, 1928, in Grandfield to Luther J. and Maggie Davis Hollers. She married Jerry L. Thrasher Jan. 5, 1950 in Calera, who preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2000. She attended schools in Meadow, Texas, and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. A housewife, she was a faithful, longtime member of Bushnell Baptist Church. She worked for Durant Main Street. Thrasher was preceded in death by her parents; sister Loyce Forbis, and granddaughter Cara Hammond. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Calera, with pallbearers Chris Hammond, Jeffrey Thrasher, Jessie Thrasher, John Carey, Jock Proffer and James Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Garner, Wilburn Glenn, Ronnie Bowman and Joe Don Hutching. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
