The Rev. Kurt Krowel will officiate. Interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Mrs. Turner, 71, of Applegate, died Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2002) at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to Applegate Community Church, P.O. Box 3140, Applegate, OR 97530, or Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2600 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 100, Medford, OR 97504. She was born May 16, 1931, in Bennington, Okla., to Dee and Mabel Cox. On Jan. 31, 1952, in Las Vegas, she married Troy Turner, who survives. They moved to the Rogue Valley 29 years ago from Bakersfield, Calif. Mrs. Turner worked for the Kern County School District in Bakersfield, Calif., as a special education aide and bus driver. She also worked as a waitress at the Applegate Cafe until her retirement in 2000. She enjoyed community socializing and an occasional visit to Seven Feathers Casino. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Debby Soltis, Medford; two sons, Steve, Grants Pass, and Troy D., Stayton; a brother, Harold Cox, Bakersfield, Calif.; a twin sister, Bonnie Burkett, Shady Cove; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
