All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily Democrat 25 Oct 2004 Helen Ruth Verhelle, 80 A service for Helen Ruth Verhelle, 80, Hendrix, who died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Dalton- Homes Funeral Chapel. Bro. Jon Hazell will officiate. She was born Monday, May 12, 1924, in Savoy, Texas, to Francis Claud Derebery and Sara Jane Teel. She married Gerard Gerome Verhelle on Feb. 14, 1943, in Achille. She came to Hendrix in February 1943 from Denison. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband on June 5, 2003. She is survived by daughters Lori Sims and husband Otis, The Colony, Texas, and Debbie Yandell and husband Jerry, Durant; brother Bob Derebery and wife Margaret, Denison; granddaughter Michele Goodnight and husband Jesse, Liverpool, Texas; grandsons Jeremy Yandell and wife Marla and Drew Yandell and wife Rachel, all of Durant; great-grandchildren Jesse and Cassie Goodnight, Liverpool, and Jagger, Rylee and Olivia Yandell, Durant; niece Melody Dooley, Lynchburg, Va.; nephew Randy Derebery and wife Gwen, Whitesboro, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Durant, with Jerry Yandell, Jeremy Yandell, Drew Yandell, Otis Sims, Jesse Goodnight and Jesse Goodnight II serving as pallbearers. Family hour will be from 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Shriner's Crippled Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 1004 Durant, OK 74702.
