Watts, 86, passed away in Scottsdale on Friday, September 29, after a brief illness. She was born Goldie Ruth Allen, in Caddo, Oklahoma, 1920. She was active in choir, glee club, and a gospel quartet in high school. She met her husband of many years in California, and they moved to Phoenix in 1950. She was active in the church, teaching Sunday school & bible study, frequently singing solo for services. Ruth touched many lives, and leaves many dear friends and family who will remember her fondly. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Watts; her parents, 2 brothers & 2 sisters. She is survived by daughter, Judith (James) Cunningham of Cottonwood; son James (Rose) Watts of Tucson; daughter Susan Watts Perez of Phoenix; brothers Ray Allen (Durant, OK), and Royal Allen (Muskogee, OK); 4 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, & 3 great-great-grandchildren; and favorite niece, Dorthy Jo West. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 5 at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
