Ed Whitmire Jr.

QUANAH - Ed Whitmire Jr., 79, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Quanah Memorial Park with
the Rev. Clinton Young, minister of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home of Quanah.

Mr. Whitmire was born in Kenefic, Okla., and moved to Quanah in 1944. He
was a retired mechanic.

He married Bernice Weems in 1945 at Quanah.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol and Edna of Quanah; a
son, Owen of Fort Worth; a brother, Clyde Whitmire of Quanah; two sisters,
Ruby Muncrief of Quanah and Avie Gardner of La Mesa, Calif.; and a
granddaughter.

The family will receive visitors from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home. They suggest memorials be to Hardeman County Memorial Hospital Fund.
