Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Quanah Memorial Park with the Rev. Clinton Young, minister of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home of Quanah. Mr. Whitmire was born in Kenefic, Okla., and moved to Quanah in 1944. He was a retired mechanic. He married Bernice Weems in 1945 at Quanah. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol and Edna of Quanah; a son, Owen of Fort Worth; a brother, Clyde Whitmire of Quanah; two sisters, Ruby Muncrief of Quanah and Avie Gardner of La Mesa, Calif.; and a granddaughter. The family will receive visitors from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
