Durant Daily Democrat Monday, February 16, 2004 John Weatherbee, 84 Services are pending with Cunningham’s Achille Funeral Home for John Weatherbee, 84, Achille, who died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Baylor Medical Center in Richardson, Texas. ========== Durant Daily Democrat Tuesday, February 17, 2004 Thursday, February 19, 2004 John Nathan Wetherbee, 84 A service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Cunningham’s Achille Funeral Home Chapel for John Nathan Wetherbee, 84, Richardson, Texas, formerly of Achille, who died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at Baylor Medical Center, Richardson. Ronald Henson, Achille Church of Christ, will officiate. He was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Ludlow, Vt. He attended Red River Academy Schools in Ludlow and married Madge Beshires Oct. 31, 1942, in Durant. He was the son of the late Ephriam John and Sarah Lamb Wetherbee. He entered the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1941, just before Pearl Harbor, and was a veteran in the Pacific Theater four years during World War II. He was also a butcher in the meat-cutting industry in East Wallingford, Vt., before moving to Dallas, Texas, where he lived most of his life. He owned and operated the Wetherbee Meat Market for many years. Wetherbee was a member of the Edwin J. Kiest Masonic Lodge in Dallas, and a member of the Achille Church of Christ. He had been an Achille resident since 1990, before moving to Richardson, Texas, the past five months due to illness. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery, Achille, with pallbearers David Calvert, Branden Yarbrough, Kenneth Bise, Larry Dollar, Eric Beshires and Harold Anders. Military honors will be conducted by Durant VFW Lodge #3916. Family hour will be 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
