Williams, 84, Durant, who died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. ======== Sunday, November 16, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat J. C. ‘Skinny’ Williams, 84 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel for J. C. ‘Skinny’ Williams, 84, Durant, who died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Revs. Leamon Bullard and Jack Frost will officiate. He was born June 29, 1919, in Maywood, Neb., to Mae (Berry) and John B. Williams He attended schools in McCook, Neb. and served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic. He married June (Anderson) Williams Sept. 20, 2003, at her home. He enjoyed raising cattle and playing dominoes. He was a member of the Utica Baptist Church and was the first to be baptised in the churches new baptistry. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife of nearly 50 years, Beatrice Williams Oct. 21, 2002; five brothers; son Clayton Junior; and step-daughter Mable Lawrence. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery will pallbearers Jerry Presley, Stan Presley, Garlan Beal, York Mitchell, Charles Davis, and Shay Presley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wes Barfield. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
