All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Wheeler, Dorothy Marcheta Dorothy Marcheta 'Keta' born August 27, 1926, in Kenefic, OK to Aubrey L. & Etta Mae Darden. Keta passed away on Sept 9, 2002 surrounded by her loving family. In spite of her 7-year courageous battle with cancer, Keta always remained strong for her family and never let the illness keep her from accomplishing what she set out to do. Throughout her life, Keta aided her husband in building a family business with Farmer's Insurance. In her younger days, Keta was involved as a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and enjoyed square dancing with her husband, K.D. Keta continued to dance even up until her last days. She also enjoyed traveling, politics, OSU athletics, entertaining guests and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a true example of a person who lived life to its fullest. Keta is dearly loved by her family and husband of 59 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, but her love and influence she always shared will continue to live in their memories. She is survived by her husband K.D. Wheeler of the home; son, Kent & wife Robbie Wheeler; granddaughters Kimberly Carleen 'Casey' Wheeler & Corbyn Marcheta Wheeler; brother J.A. & wife Louetta Darden; sisters-in-law Jean & husband Marshall Carlisle, June & husband David Spector, Capy & husband Tom Alexander; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. The family would like to thank the Central Oklahoma Hospice and Brookhaven Extensive Care of Norman for their patience, kindness, and love for Keta. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm, September 12, 2002 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel with interment at Arlington Memory Gardens.
