She was the daughter of the late W.C. and Bessie Mae Black, Mangum, and the widow of C.B, (Pete) Warren. Helen was born in Mangum May 16, 1921, where she lived, married and enjoyed many wonderful friends. After World War II, Helen and ‘Pete’ moved to Oklahoma City where they raised their two loving children while working in their grocery store and home-building business. They retired to Willow Springs in 1982 and enjoyed a wealth of friends in their community and church. Helen’s primary interest was the celebration of family and friends and the sharing of life’s fondest memories. She had an unfaltering faith which could be characterized by a prayer she carried with her, ‘Lord, Bless us with courage and faith. Be near us through times of trouble. Guide us through times of uncertainty. Thank you for your awareness of our every need. Amen.’ If the love of one’s family and the abundance of one’s friends are any measure, Helen was a wealthy woman. She will be missed, and she touched many lives. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Kingston. The Rev. Randa Norman will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Mangum, at 5:30 p.m. Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Bryan County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/bryan/bryan.htm
