Durant Daily Democrat Thursday, January 8, 2004 Evelyn (Harsha) Zimmerman, 84 Services are pending with Coffey-Murray Funeral Home for Evelyn (Harsha) Zimmerman, 84, Durant, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at her residence. ============= Durant Daily Democrat Sunday, January 11, 2004 Evelyn (Harsha) Zimmerman, 84 A service will be 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Durant for Evelyn (Harsha) Zimmerman, 84, Durant, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at her residence. The Revs. Gerald Tidwell and James Robinson will officiate. The daughter of Truman and Ruth Harsha, she was born Monday, Sept. 29, 1919, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher. Reading her Bible was her favorite activity. She enjoyed music and wrote gospel songs, although she never had them published. While she lived in Chicago, she worked for Pacific Garden Missions. The mission operated shelters for the homeless and other Christian ministries. She married James A. Zimmerman in 1941 in Miami. Preceding her death were her parents, and husband. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Muskogee, with John Prough, Bill Atherton, Herb Clark, Rick Hammel, Lee Gayle and Larri Elrod serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is Joel Vlasin.
