Officiating was the Rev. Kevin Main of Anadarko. Burial was under the direction of Branstetter-Rosewood Funeral Home of Oklahoma City, Ok. Military rites were led by Louis 'Buddy' Bedoka and David Nixon, both of Anadarko. Abney was born 28-Apr-1929 in Gracemont, Caddo Co., Ok. to Gerald and Eunice Lee Babb Abney. He had been employed as a construction worker, a home builder and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Preceding him in death were his parents; one son, Robert Dewayne Abney; one sister, Mildred Marie Miller; and one brother, Raymond Abney. Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Lindell Lewis of Oklahoma City, Ok., Paula and Harry Minick of Luther, Ok, Roberta Gail Arthurs of Oklahoma City, Ok., and Shari Abney of Oklahoma City, Ok.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Colleen and Jerry Litterell of Oklahoma City, Ok., Shirley and Don Dvorak of Checotah, Ok., and Delphene and Paul Gomez of Lawton, Ok., two brothers, Orville Parton and Verle Parton, both of Oklahoma City, Ok.; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and three nieces, Betty Jean Kardokus of Fort Cobb, Ok., Vonda Lee Main and Donna Raye Williams, both of Anadarko, Ok.
