Officiating was Dr. Tip Carroll, pastor. Burial was in Anadarko's Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home of Anadarko. Mrs. Askren was born 19-Sep-1919 in Brockway, Pa. She married Leon L. Askren 23-Jun-1946 in Baltimore, Md. She came to Anadarko 05-May-1958 from Arlington, Va. She retired 30-Aug-1980 from the Bureau of Indian Affairs where she was employed as a social worker assistant. For several years, she was a secretary to U.S. Senator Edward Martin of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, John Christian Askren of Edmond, Ok.; her mother, Margaret Wilcox of Bloomsburg, Pa.; one brother, John Garthwaite of Dover, Del.; three sisters, Connie Morabito of Woodside, N.Y.; Sarah Letterman of Glasboro, N.J.; and Alberta Long of Philadelphia, Pa.; two stepsons, M. Leon Askren and Paul Laird Askren, both of Tucson, Ariz.; one step-daughter, JoAnne Randell of Tucson, Ariz. and eight grandchildren.
