Burial was in Memory Lane Cemetery at Anadarko under the direction of Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Allen was born 21-Oct-1906, north of Gracemont on the VanDeventer homestead to Charles and Mattie Alice (Banning) VanDeventer. She married 19-Nov-1933 at the Gracemont Methodist Church Carl Melvin Allen. She graduated from Gracemont High School in 1926. She became a member of the Methodist Church at the age of six. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Buster Allen; one granddaughter, Shonda Allen; one great-grandson, Jacob Crain; one brother, Vernie VanDeventer; her father, mother and step-mother, Christine VanDeventer. Survivors include two sons, one daughter, four grandsons, four great- granddaughters, four great-grandsons and one sister.
