All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 12 Nov 2003 Nellie Odessa Anderson BINGER — Funeral for Nellie Odessa Anderson, 89, Binger, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Binger-Oney School Auditorium, 330 S. Apache, Binger, with the Rev. Davie T. Lawrence, pastor, St. Paul Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jay S. Ross, pastor, Siloam Missionary Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, officiating. Kodash services will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Howard-Harris Funeral Services, 1005 SW C, Lawton, conducted by the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Anderson died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, in Binger. Burial will be at Shady Lane Cemetery, Binger. She was born Sept. 16, 1914, in Albert, to David and Maudie Anderson. She graduated from Douglas High School in Binger. She completed nursing school in Los Angeles, and worked as a licensed practical nurse. She owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Binger. After she moved to Oklahoma City, she was employed by Beulah Hearns Nursery. She moved to Lawton in May 2003. She joined St. Paul Baptist Church in Binger when she was young. She was a teacher of the Baptist Training Union and Children's Sunday school. When she was in Oklahoma City, she joined Fairview Baptist Church and served with the Nurses' Ministry. After returning to Binger she again joined St. Paul Baptist Church. She was a member of Sunrise Chapter No. 13 Order of the Eastern Star for 45 years. Survivors include a daughter, Opal Laverne Robinson, Lawton; two grandsons: Stanley Robinson and his wife, Nina, Lawton; and Reginald Robinson, Oklahoma City; three granddaughters: Paula Derrick, Oklahoma City; Army Master Sgt. LaDonna White, Fort Hood, Texas; and Jacqueline Hawkins and her husband, Larry, Scott AFB, Ill.; a brother, Chester Anderson and his wife, Charlene, Los Angeles; two sisters: Lucille Ponder, Sacramento, Calif.; and Leola Joe, Oklahoma City; 13 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, six brothers and a great- granddaughter.
