Iva McLaughlin Back

Iva McLaughlin Back: 1909-2004

PAMPA - Iva McLaughlin Back, 95, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral 
Directors Colonial Chapel with Dick Marcear, minister of the Church 
of Christ at The Colonies of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in 
Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Back was born June 19, 1909, in Cement, Okla. She attended 
business college in Shawnee, Okla. She moved to Pampa in 1933 from 
Laketon. She married Jack Back on July 20, 1950, in Clayton, N.M. He 
preceded her in death in 1993. She retired as a medical secretary for 
Dr. Joe Donaldson and Dr. Ed Williams at the Medical Arts Clinic. She 
was a member of the Wells Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Rice in October 2004; 
and a son-in-law, Bill Rice in 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, Jackie Pyeatt and husband, A.F., of 
Amarillo; four grandchildren, Clay Rice and wife, Beth, of Pampa, 
Kymm Murray of Tulsa, Okla., Mark Pyeatt and wife, Diana, of Dallas 
and Christy Houchin and husband, Jeff, of El Paso; four great-
grandchildren, Shane Murray of Stillwater, Okla., Zac Murray of 
Tulsa, Jennifer Muns of Amarillo and Brenden Rice of Pampa; a great-
great-grandson, Keegan Muns of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
