The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ==================================================================== The Carnegie Herald, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 1933 page 4 column 3 Another Pioneer Passes John Luther Murray Bizzell was born near Paducah, Kentucky, April 26, 1849 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sam Brown, Alfalfa, Okla., February 1, 1933, aged 83 years, 9 months and 5 days. He was converted at the age of 19. He has been a member of the Methodist church of Alfalfa ever since it was organized. He was married to Mary J. Martin September 1, 1867. To this union were born 2 sons and 5 daughters. Mrs. Bizzell passed away at Alfalfa January 16, 1919. Grandpa came to Oklahoma in the winter of 1898 and has been a resident of this community since 1902. He leaves to mourn his death the seven children, J.M. Bizzell, Foss; A.W. Bizzell, Tecumseh; Mrs. H.O. Richardson, Long Beach, calif.; Mrs. Frank Hodge, Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Frank Hixon, Mrs. A.W. Setzer and Mrs. Sam Brown of Alfalfa. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. All of the children were at his bedside except Mrs. Hodge and Mrs. Richardson. Funeral services were held at the Alfalfa Baptis church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Maguire, pastor of the Alfalfa Methodist church.
