"Willie" Baker, 62, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ben Seller officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mr. Baker was born Oct. 14, 1941, in Carnegie, Okla., to William and Fannie Baker. He moved to Dumas in 1950 from Mountainview, Okla. He married Sharen Ball on Feb. 25, 1967, in First Presbyterian Church of Dumas. He had worked as a mechanic for Maxus. Mr. Baker also assisted the LOGOS program at the church and had been church treasurer and assistant treasurer. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy Baker of Mountainburg, Ark., and Jeff Baker of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Katherine Seale of Garden City, Kan., and Frances Lee of Amarillo; two brothers, Harold Baker of Amarillo and Donald Baker of Dumas; four grandchildren, Jordan and Lauren Baker of Arkansas, and Austin and Dallys Baker of Arizona. The family suggests memorials be to the Diabetic Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720; or the LOGOS Program in care of First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1118, Dumas, TX 79029.
