Blood August 21, 1997 BINGER--Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday 24-Aug-1997 at the Binger Baptist Church for Elmer D. Blood, 76, of Binger who died 21-Aug-1997 at his home. Officiating was the Rev. Donald Wright and the Rev. Jake Hicks. Vocalists were Rosella House, Rosalee Paxton and Wes Stover. Pianist was Mary Opitz. Burial was in Binger's Murray Cemetery under the direction of Hinton-Turner Funeral Home of Hinton, Ok. Blood was born 17-Mar-1921 near Binger to Walter H. and Hazel (Thompson) Blood. He married the former Margaret Opitz 24-Jan-1942 in Hinton. He was a farmer and rancher for 53 years on the same section of land homesteaded by his grandfather and now owned by his son. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He participated in rodeo and calf roping in his earlier years. Preceding him in death was one son, Kenny Blood; his parents; two brothers, Carroll and Leon Blood; and two sisters, Francis Ralston and Reba Lewis. Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Carlin Blood of Binger; two daughters and one son-in-law, Janice Tanguay and her husband Paul of Guntersville, Ala., and Jeanie Sweger of Owasso, Ok.; one daughter-in-law, Shana Brewer and her husband, Paul of Rogers, Ark.; grandchildren--Kjersti Sanders and her husband, Geoff, of Georgetown, Tx., Charlie Sweger and his wife, Michelle, of Collinsville; Jeffrey Tanguay and his wife, Terri, of Fort Stewart, Ga.; Cody Blood of Binger; Barry Blood and his wife, Jenny, of Seattle, Wash.; Jody Blood of Fort Sill, Ok.; and Dana Dorsey and her husband, K.P., of Conway, Ark.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Rhoda Blood of Oklahoma City, Ok., Lonnie and Elizabeth Blood of Lookeba, Ok.; one sister and brother-in-law, Oleta and Glen Clayton of Binger; and many nephews and nieces.
