Bowen March 07, 1997 APACHE--Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. 11-Mar-1997 at the Highland Park Baptist Church in Duncan for Lester S. Bowen, 89, of Duncan who died 07-Mar-1997 at a Bethany hospital after a short illness. Officiating was the Rev. Jerry Riddle. Burial was held at 2:30 p.m. in Apache's Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home of Apache. Bowen was born 15-Nov-1907 in Romulus (now Pottawatomie county) Indian Territory. He was married to the former Beulah Bridges 14- Feb-1932 in Apache, Caddo county, Ok. He came to Apache with his parents in 1930. He and his wife lived in Fletcher and Sterling, both in Comanche county Ok. They moved to Duncan, Stephens county, Ok. in 1939 where he was employed for Halliburton until his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Duncan. Survivors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Roberta Garrity of Oklahoma City, Ok.; one son, Ronald Bowen of Fernley, Nev.; two sisters, Mildred Good of Apache, Ok. and Leona Casebeer of Mercedes, Tx.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
