Bennett, 78, of Cyril, died Tuesday, 05-Jun-2001 in Lawton, Comanche county, Ok. Officiating will be the Rev. Donnie Miller of Cyril and the Rev. Larry Hatfield of Chickasha, Ok. Burial will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril under the direction of the Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher. Bennett was born 22-Apr-1923 in Rush Springs, Grady county, Ok. to Ted and Cordelia (Green) Bennett. He married the former Mildred Moss 10-Jan-1944 in Chickasha, Ok. The couple made their home in Cyril where he was employed by Apco Refinery as a pipe fitter. He retired in 1984 after 35 years. He moved from Rush Springs to California for a short time, then moved back to Sterling. He served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in France, Germany, the Phillippines and Japan. He enjoyed fishing, his family and woodworking. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers, Orville, C.W., Ernest and Snooks; and one sister, Dimple (Bennett) Gilliam. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Linda Brasee of Cyril and Mary Whitner and her husband Garyal of Chouteau, Ok.; six grandchildren, Jeff, Shelli, Christa, Russ, Jill and Nikki; eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Hannah, Chelsea, Cordell, Devon, Ryder, Jewelee and Anakin; and one sister, Estelle Ogletree of Elk City, Ok.
