Officiating was the Rev. Arol Steverson, pastor of the First Baptist in Willow and assisted by the Rev. Monte Moran, pastor of the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church of Anadarko. Burial was under the direction of the Smith Funeral Chapel of Anadarko. Braswell was born 23-Jan-1930 in Binger, Caddo county, Ok. to Hugh and Grace Cabbiness. She and Herman Braswell were married 21-Sep- 1951 in Binger. She was valedictorian of the Binger High School Class of 1947 and was employed by the Caddo Electric Cooperative in Binger from 05-Aug-1947 until 10-Sep-1951. She was then employed at the Production and Marketing Administration, which later became the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service Office in Anadarko. When she retired in 1989 she was the chief program assistant and acting county director. She served a total of 38 years as an ASCS employee. She was a member of the National Association of County Office Employees and the Oklahoma Association of County Office Employees. As a civic leader she served as president of the Anadarko Sorosis Club, the Anadarko Business and Professional Women's Club and the Tulip-Rose Garden Club, which became the Glad- Iris Club. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Knit-Knacks Club. She was the Business and Professional Women's Woman of the Year in 1983 and received the OKASCOE Community Service Award in 1985. She and her husband also served on the Chickasha Community Concerts board of directors. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband of the home; one sister, Opal Crowder of Chico, Calif.; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Les and Marilyn Cabbiness of El Reno, Ok. and Dr. Dale and Loretta Cabbiness of Houston, Tx.
