Barger July 01, 1997 LOOKEBA--Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday 06-Jul-1997 at the New Covenant Pentecostal holiness Church in Lookeba, Caddo county, Ok. for Charles E. Barger, 68, of Lookeba who died 01-Jul- 1997 in Anadarko. Officiating was the Rev. Jim Zinger. Burial was in the Lookeba Cemetery under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home of Hinton, Ok. Barger was born 03-Feb-1929 in Lookeba to D.O. and Linnie Barger. Barger lived in Lookeba all of his life and attended Lookeba School. He was employed by the Farmer's Co-op Cotton Gin and was a member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lookeba. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include five sisters, Halley Kuntz and Dehlia Van Schuyver, both of Oklahoma City, Ok., Eva Carlile of Hinton, Ok., Vivian Jones of Polo, Mo., and Dorothy Demand of Friendswood, Tx.; two brothers, Ogland Barger of Wetumka, Ok., and Milford Barger of Lookeba, Ok.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Anadarko Daily News LOOKEBA MAN KILLED TUESDAY WHEN HIT BY CAR Witnesses told the Anadarko police Tuesday Charles E. Barger, 68, of Lookeba stepped off the curb on South Mission and into the path of a southbound car. Barger was struck by the right front of the vehicle and was thrown east onto a grassy right-of-way. Witnesses told police the driver of the car, Danella Suzanne Buchanan, 17, of Fort Cobb had no chance to stop or swerve to miss Barger. Witnesses said Barger stepped into the vehicle's path. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Caddo County Medical Examiner John Flynn. Barger was known in the community and walked every day from his home in Lookeba to Anadarko. He was born Feb. 3, 1929 in Lookeba. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lookeba. Burial will be in the Lookeba Cemetery under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home of Hinton.
