Bordwine December 23, 1995 BINGER--Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday 27-Dec-1995 at the Church of God in Binger for Elva O. Bordwine, 78, of Binger. Bordwine died 23-Dec-1995 at her home. Officiating at the service was Ron Nelson, pastor. Burial was in Binger's Murray Cemetery under the direction of Gragg Funeral Home of Binger. Bordwine was born 29-Oct-1917 south of Binger to Walter W. and Rachael E. Thornton. She married Virgil Bordwine 13-Oct-1931 in Scott, Caddo county, Ok. Bordwine attended the East Walnut County School and was the bookkeeper for the family plumbing business. She was a dedicated Christian and prayer worrier for many years and gave God the glory for all she had. She loved her family very much and they all knew it well. She was very active and prayed reverently for many family and friends that God had laid on her heart. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1987; one daughter, Regina Prince in 1978; her parents; three sisters, Rachael, Betty and Tabitha; and two brothers, Walter and William Thornton. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Arleen Bordwine of Binger; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lavonna and Johnnie Devaughan and Treva and Leroy Gregory, all of Binger, and Twila and Ray Hart of Hydro, Ok.; one brother, Davis Thornton of Bakersville, Calif.; five sisters, Pearl, Mary, Aimee, Helen and Myrtle; two sisters-in-law, Edna Hill of Hinton and Blanche Nuttle of Bakersville, Calif.;16 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces, cousins and other relatives.
